Governance

SICB is governed by an Executive Committee that is chaired by the President of the Society. The Executive Committee is composed mostly of persons elected to represent different sectors of the Society. A group of core officers, called Executive Officers, includes the President, President-Elect, Past President, Secretary, Secretary-Elect, Treasurer, Treasurer-Elect, Program Officer, and Program Officer-Elect, who work closely with the Executive Director. These individuals provide leadership to the Executive Committee and members of the Society.

The Society contains members with many disciplinary interests in the field of biology. These disciplinary interests are served by formal divisions of the Society with their own elected officers. More information on the Society’s structure and operation can be found in the bylaws.

SICB members can volunteer to serve SICB in a variety of roles by filling out the Volunteer to Serve form.
