SICB 2004 Annual Meeting, New Orleans, Louisiana, Jan. 5-9

General Information

Please note changed meeting dates! The meeting will start around 6 PM on January 5 with the Plenary Lecture. The last day is January 9 which is planned to be a half day with the meeting closing around noon.

Annual Meeting Program and Abstracts
All registered attendees of the 2004 Annual Meeting will receive a copy of the Annual Meeting Program and Abstracts on-site at the SICB Registration/Information Desk located at the New Orleans Marriott. Copies will not be mailed prior to the Annual Meeting. They will be available prior to the Annual Meeting on the Web site and attendees can plan their activities from the web. The abstracts will be published as part of the next available issue of Integrative and Comparative Biology.

Registration/Information Area
The SICB Registration/Information area will be located at the New Orleans Marriott. The hours of operation are:

Monday, January 5 10:00 am-8:00 pm
Tuesday, January 6 7:00 am-5:00 pm
Wednesday, January 7 7:00 am-5:00 pm
Thursday, January 8 7:00 am-2:00 pm
Friday, January 9 7:00 am-Noon

Staff is available during these times to assist you with membership enrollment, on-site registration, conference materials, employment opportunity information, meeting room locations, and information on New Orleans.

Employment Opportunities
The Employment Opportunity bulletin boards will be located in the SICB Registration/Information area. The Employment Opportunity boards will provide a place for attendees to post “Positions Wanted,” and learn about “Positions Available.” Interested attendees may schedule interviews in the room set aside for that purpose. See a registration desk attendant for assistance.

Special Student Travel Awards
Details will be posted here when they become available.


Student Support Program

The SICB Student Support Program awards financial support in the form of housing or waived registration fees. Those applicants granted housing support will receive complimentary housing based on double occupancy for four (4) nights during the Annual Meeting. Message Board

A message board will be located in the SICB Registration/Information Area. Attendees may also leave messages and announcements for other attendees on the message board. Please contact the New Orleans Marriott, (504) 581-1000, to reach the SICB Registration/Information Area.

Child Care
If you will be bringing children with you, please contact the concierge at the New Orleans Marriott to arrange for recommended baby-sitting services.
