SICB Annual Meeting 2000

Special Sessions

Opening Session

Make sure to join us for the Opening Session, featuring John C. Avise, on Tuesday, January 4, from 8:00-9:00 p.m. Avise, Professor of Genetics at the University of Georgia, will begin the meeting with a talk on “The Genetic Gods,” elaborating on his recent book by the same name. How are recent advances in genetics reshaping the views of biologists and society about what determines our lives? Exploring this question will be a fitting way to enter the last year of the millennium and prepare for the next. Don’t miss it!

University of the 21st Century

The SICB Educational Council and Public Affairs Committee is presenting a panel discussion on Friday, January 7 from 1:00-3:00 p.m., entitled “University of the 21st Century”. The increasing corporate influences and the changing roles of the student in the university will be discussed.

Contributed Papers

Contributed Papers will be presented in Ecological and Behavioral Studies, Environmental Biology, Integrative and Comparative Issues, Integrative and Comparative Morphology, Integrative Developmental Studies, Integrative Evolutionary Studies, Integrative Regulatory Biology, and Physiological and Biochemical Mechanisms.
