Enhance your networking opportunities by attending SICB’s social events. Some of the events require the purchase of a ticket. Please refer to the Registration Form for individual ticket prices. All events will take place at the Atlanta Hilton and Towers.

Student “First Timer” Orientation

Tuesday, 5:30-6:15 pm

If you are registering as a student and this is your first SICB meeting, you are encouraged to join the Student/ Postdoctoral Affairs Committee to learn about the benefits of the Annual Meeting, meet your fellow students, and learn how to make a solid presentation.
Welcome to Atlanta Reception

Tuesday, 9:00-11:00 pm

The SICB Executive Committee welcomes you to Atlanta with this reception. A cash bar will be available and snacks will be provided.
Spouse/Guest Orientation

Wednesday, January 5 – 9:00-10:00 am

All registered guests are welcome to join this informal gathering. A member of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau will be on hand to let you know about some of the many fascinating facts and sightseeing that Atlanta is known for.

SICB Society-Wide Social

Saturday, January 8 – 6:30-8:00 pm

Join your fellow SICB members for the Society-Wide Social. The SICB Executive Committee encourages you to share experiences and make new acquaintances.
Division Socials
Make sure to attend the Divisional Socials during the Annual Meeting to network with colleagues with similar interests, renew old friendships and start new ones. Divisional Socials will be slotted after the abstracts are scheduled, so make sure to watch the Schedule of Events for updates.
Poster Presentations

Wednesday, January 5

Make sure to attend the two Poster Presentation Question & Answer Sessions on Wednesday and Thursday evening in the Exhibit Hall. A cash bar and complimentary snacks will be available.
