Visiting Assistant Professor position in biology at the Claremont Colleges

The W.M Keck Science Department of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer and Scripps Colleges (three of the five undergraduate Claremont Colleges) in Southern California, seeks to hire a full time, visiting assistant professor in biology for the Fall 2022-Spring 2023 academic year. Successful candidates will be able to teach a general biology course for non-science majors, contribute to the introductory biology sequence (spanning basic concepts in cell and molecular biology, plant and animal diversity, ecology, and evolution), and/or teach an upper division biology course in their area of specialty. Participation in directing undergraduate research projects may be possible.  The position is for a one-year appointment with the potential for renewal.  A Ph.D. in biology or related subject is required and prior teaching experience is preferred.
