New College of Florida invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology in the area of Ecology. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester, including one section of introductory biology covering ecology, evolution and genetics, as well as an intermediate-level ecology lecture with lab. In addition to two courses per semester, the candidate will teach students in small group situations which may include supervising undergraduate research and honors theses and/or sponsoring student-centered tutorials. The candidate will have access to research facilities including those in the new east wing of the Heiser Natural Science Building, the Pritzker Marine Biology Research Center and the 188 acre Tidy Island Preserve. Collaborations with regional research institutions are encouraged.
This non-tenure track position is a 9-month appointment for the 2022-2023 academic year that can be renewed.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Biology or a closely related field that is conferred prior to starting the position in August 2022.
