Visiting Assistant Professor in Developmental Biology

The Department of Biology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is accepting applications for the one-year position of Visiting Assistant Professor in Developmental Biology, beginning August 2024. We seek a biologist with demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate education and mentorship. Teaching responsibilities include participating in biology core courses as needed (Contemporary Biosciences, Principles of Biology I, Principles of Biology II, Genetics, Ecology and Evolution) and upper division electives in Developmental Biology and in their specialty. This one-year position is contingent upon funding and may have the option of being extended to a two-year contract, pending budgetary review.

Qualifications: Ph.D. required; postdoctoral training and/or teaching experience preferred. We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching as well as maintaining an active research program that has the potential to involve undergraduates. The successful candidate must produce the necessary documentation to legally work in U.S. upon hire.
