The University at Albany, State University of New York, seeks an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Biological Sciences. The new hire will be a member of the UAlbany AI Institute. The successful candidate will provide evidence of expertise in AI and address how AI is integral to their research program.
The Department of Biological Sciences seeks candidates interested in developing a research program at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Biological Sciences. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in any field of Biological Sciences, computational biology, or related fields relevant to this search.
We welcome outstanding candidates who have demonstrated potential for developing and/or applying AI research to a broad range of biological fields, including but not limited to big-data processing algorithms. We welcome candidates whose research is relevant to understanding fundamental biological processes that contribute to physiology and disease through the use of learning theory, machine learning, deep learning, data mining, flexible networks, etc. We encourage candidates who combine wet laboratory and computational techniques. The ideal candidate should have a track record of creativity and productivity, and a desire to bring together people from different disciplines and foster new ideas and novel collaborations in our interdisciplinary, collaborative, and growing scientific community.
