WHO: Desert Tortoise Biologists

SummitWest is currently looking for highly experienced desert tortoise biologists to conduct clearance surveys and monitoring on the Nevada Greenlink Transmission Project. This project spans between Las Vegas to Reno. We are anticipating an up to 2-year-long need for biologists on this project with 7-day work weeks.
Essential Requirements: Previous DETO USFWS Authorization required, although highly experienced non-authorized DETO biologists will be considered. Prior experience conducting desert tortoise surveys and monitoring as well as ability to handle long hours in the field and long mobilization times are a must.
Educational Requirements: A bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, ecology, environmental science or a related field.
Work Schedule: This project is anticipated to be up to 2 years long with work beginning in late June/early July 2025. The work schedule will be 7 days a week, with preferred off days being flexible. Mobilization times of at least 3 weeks are preferred, but shorter durations can be considered.
