Slippery Rock University: Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology

Slippery Rock University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology beginning August 2023. Primary reaching responsibilities will include Anatomy and Physiology I & II. Additional courses may include lower-level biology courses for both majors and non-majors, as well as courses in the faculty member’s area of specialization. The successful candidate must exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching in a Liberal Arts setting, establishment of a productive research program in the candidate’s area of expertise that will involve undergraduates, and contribution to department, college, and university committees.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Broadly trained animal physiologist (PhD must be completed by July 1, 2023)
  • Evidence of professional competence and ability to work productively with students and colleagues
  • Commitment to the education of diverse populations
  • Successful performance in an on-campus interview, including teaching and research presentations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of undergraduate teaching experience
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness
  • Experience teaching Anatomy & Physiology
