SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
This posting is to fill one (1) full-time, tenure track position teaching in the Biology department. This Biology position will instruct courses in the following focus area: Anatomy, Physiology and General Biology for non-majors. Faculty positions may require work to be performed during evenings and/or weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in biological science OR Bachelor’s in any biological science AND Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science OR the equivalent.
Experience that indicates a sensitivity to, and an understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and personnel.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION/S
- A minimum of one full year teaching experience with some experience with face-to-face classroom experience.
- Experience teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology and/or Organismal Biology.
- Demonstrate practice of culturally responsive education in various areas of Biology.
- Demonstrate practice of evidence-based active teaching and learning methods and innovative ideas for the Biology curriculum in both in-person and virtual environments.
- Maintains currency in the biological sciences and incorporates advances and discoveries into curriculum for both lecture and laboratory.
- Demonstrates ongoing professional commitment and updating to the goals and ideals of the teaching profession.
