Postdoctoral Fellow (teaching and research)

The Biology Department at Bowdoin College invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible postdoctoral fellow position for the 2024-2025 academic year.  The full position description can be found here. The appointment begins July 1, 2024, and is a one-year position with the possibility of a second year pending curricular need, review, and reappointment. The teaching load is three courses per year. Courses to be taught include Biology of Marine Organisms fall semester (a core-level course in marine ecology and natural history that involves weekly field/lab sessions co-taught with a full-time professional laboratory instructor), and two other courses spring semester, which could include an advanced course in one’s area of expertise and a course designed for non-science majors.  We especially welcome applications from candidates incorporating genomic and/or biomechanical approaches into their studies of marine organisms. A Ph.D. in biology or a related field is expected by the date of appointment.
