A PhD Research Assistant will be hired under the advisement of Dr. Wei Xu in the direction of molecular biology in aquatic species. The successful applicant will be working on understanding the molecular response of marine shellfish calcification to environmental stress. Basic molecular and cellular techniques and microscopy are required. Experience in bioinformatics is a plus. The successful candidate will also get opportunities to obtain experience in other aquatic animal species. The student will obtain a PhD degree from the Marine Biology Program of TAMU-CC Department of Life Sciences (https://www.tamucc.edu/science/departments/life-sciences/marine-biology/).
