PhD position – Avian Coloration

Posted on November 16, 2021
Expires: December 31, 2021

The Toomey Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Tulsa (TU) is seeking PhD students for an NSF-funded position beginning Fall 2022. We are looking for individuals interested in applying cutting-edge molecular biological approaches to address fundamental questions about organismal evolution. You will be part of a team investigating the biochemical, cellular, molecular, and physiological mechanisms that link coloration and individual quality in the house finch model system. There will be excellent opportunities to cross-train with our partner labs at Auburn University (Dr. Geoff Hill) and The University of Memphis (Dr. Yufeng Zhang).

If you are interested in joining the lab, please email Dr. Matthew Toomey (mbt6332@utulsa.edu) with a brief cover letter describing your research interests and experiences and a current CV or resume.
