Position Description:

The Department of Biomedical Sciences at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher/Fellow and Visiting Professor in Anatomical Sciences to support the delivery of our integrated medical curriculum on the Athens, Ohio Campus. The primary responsibilities will be to participate in a team-taught anatomical sciences active learning environment (50% effort).

The other component of the selected candidate’s work effort will be conducting research in the lab of Dr. Peishu Li in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. The selected candidate will assist with existing lab projects on the evolution, development, and biomechanics of the vertebrate feeding system, and also have the opportunity to develop new research projects based on their interests. Specific topical areas of research include, but are not limited to, comparative anatomy, muscle physiology, comparative biomechanics, and vertebrate paleontology. The person chosen for this position will have 50% of their effort allocated to research (either independent or collaborative). There will also be opportunities for curriculum and/or activity leadership.

This is an 11-month position with an estimated start date of July 1, 2025. The position is renewable annually for up to three years, dependent upon performance and instructional needs.
