Miami University: Two tenure-track positions in Biological Sciences

Miami University is hiring two Assistant Professors in Biological Sciences to teach courses in general biology, anatomy and/or physiology, and/or area of expertise at the Middletown, OH campus; maintain an active research program and seek extramural funding; advise students; and provide service to the institution and profession beginning fall semester 2022.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Biology or closely related field by date of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Consideration may be given to candidates with postdoctoral experience; prior teaching experience at the college level; and/or research interests that complement those of current faculty and that show potential for research collaborations with other Miami biologists or microbiologists.

The ideal candidate for one position will be a cell or environmental physiologist interested in teaching physiology for biology majors and anatomy & physiology to nursing majors, while also teaching other courses within their area of expertise.

The ideal candidate for the other position will be an organismal biologist interested in teaching general biology and anatomy to biology majors, while also teaching other courses within their area of expertise.

Submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of research plans and evidence of research quality, a list of courses taught, a statement of teaching philosophy and evidence of teaching quality, and a 1-page statement addressing past and/or potential contributions to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, and/or service to: Physiology position or Organismal Biology position.
