Hendrix College: Assistant Professor of Biology and Health Sciences

Hendrix College invites applications for a three-year term for an Assistant Professor of Biology and Health Sciences to begin in August 2022. The College seeks to extend its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship by attracting faculty who combine mastery of their disciplines with broad intellectual interests and commitment to the aims of a liberal arts college. The successful candidate will teach one or more courses in the Health Science major, including Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, and/or Physiology of Exercise, as well as our introductory and non-major biology courses. Teaching load is six course equivalents per year (one course equivalent comprises one lecture or two lab sections). Doctorate is preferred; ABD will be considered.

Applications should include a cover letter addressing the candidate’s interest in teaching in a demanding liberal arts environment, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching interests, evidence of teaching effectiveness, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and a statement of scholarly interest. The cover letter should also include a statement indicating how the candidate plans to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in their work with students.
