Call for travel award applications – ABS workshop on functional genetics in diverse organisms

Posted on April 29, 2022
Expires: June 29, 2022

Interested in functional genetic approaches across organisms?

Come to our NSF-funded workshop July 19, 2022 prior to the 2022 Animal Behavior Society Meeting. We will bring together functional geneticists developing novel genetic methods with biologists interested in diverse behavioral questions. By enabling the widespread dissemination of newly developed, agile functional genetic tools to researchers with expertise in neuroethology and behavioral ecology, we will facilitate the next era of innovation in the study of the genetic basis of behavior.

This interactive workshop will tackle everything from the “whether to” to the “how to” of implementing various functional genetic approaches to study behavior. To sign up, register for the ABS annual meeting to be held in San Jose, Costa Rica (July 20-23, 2022) and enroll in the workshop (July 19).

To apply for a travel award, which is separate from ABS, use the link on the right side of the workshop page. Travel awards are available for undergraduate, graduate students, and post-doctoral trainees. Please note that the application requests that you answer a few questions and upload or email a letter of recommendation. Travel award applicants will be notified of status by May 20 (prior to the registration deadline for ABS).

Please send this to any colleagues who may be interested. Questions can be directed to zoe.donaldson@colorado.edu.
