California State University Long Beach: Visiting lecturer in Invertebrate Zoology

Posted on March 19, 2025

The Department of Biological Sciences at California State University Long Beach seeks a visiting lecturer to teach a one-semester lecture and lab course in invertebrate zoology in Spring 2026 (20 January through 22 May). The class usually runs M/W (8-850 am lecture) with two lab sections that each meet twice a week (morning lab M/W 9-1145, afternoon lab M/W 2-445). Timing could be adjusted (within limits) to suit the lecturer’s schedule. We are close to the coast and have access to a research vessel, making both intertidal and offshore fieldtrips easy. We also have staff to support collection and maintenance of specimens for the course. If desired, additional teaching assignments for the semester can also be requested from the Department Chair. This is a great opportunity for a postdoc or advanced PhD student looking for instructor of record teaching experience at a primarily undergraduate institution. If interested please send a current CV to Dr. Bruno Pernet (bruno.pernet@csulb.edu); he is also happy to answer any questions you might have.
