A postdoctoral position is available to study elastic mechanisms in muscle function in the laboratory of Thomas Roberts. The project uses animal models, isolated muscle measurements, and modeling to study how elastic structures affect the mechanical output of skeletal muscles. Candidates with a background in biomechanics, bioengineering, or muscle biology are encouraged to apply. Desirable experience includes isolated muscle mechanical measurements, materials testing, and/or in silico or physical modeling of mechanical phenomena. Salary will be based on Brown’s pay scale, commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in biology or engineering and an established record of research in bioengineering , muscle physiology, or biomechanics.
Application Instructions
Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statements of research goals, up to three representative publications, and names of three references via Interfolio at http://apply.interfolio.com/158200. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled or the search is closed.
