The Department of Biology at Lafayette College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2024. We seek applicants with expertise in Genetics, Cellular, and Molecular Biology. Candidates whose research has implications for human health are particularly encouraged to apply.

The candidate will be expected to teach courses in Molecular Genetics and be able to contribute to our introductory general biology course sequences, in particular Biomolecular Foundations in Biology.  Candidates will also be expected to teach other courses in their area of expertise.  The teaching load is 2/2 in the first year, and 3/2 thereafter. The Department of Biology (within the Division of Natural Sciences) expects all of its members to maintain active, productive, sustained programs of scholarship that involve undergraduate students. Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and plans for an active research program that can include undergraduates in their laboratory. Research experience beyond graduate work is preferred.  Experience teaching undergraduates is a plus.  The department especially welcomes applications from candidates who will contribute to Lafayette’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
