FENCL, H.S.: Reaching All Students: Supporting Diversity in a Science Classroom

This session will explore both the importance of, and resources for, teaching a diverse group of students. Athough the emphasis of the discussion will be on gender-conscious teaching, many of the issues raised are equally important to minority students and those from a spectrum of socio-economic backgrounds. Ideas and resources for curricular reform–of a single course or across the major–will be presented. Experiences of educators at the UWS Women & Science Curriculum Reform Institute will be used as illustrations.
