BUTLER, MA*; YAP, JT; SCALES, JA; University of Tennessee; Harvard Medical School; University of Tennessee: Functional and anatomical imaging of iguana head using coregistered microPET/microCT
We conducted a head study in the lizard Iguana iguana using imaging techniques. A high-resolution anatomical image was obtained using microCT, and a functional image registering glucose uptake into the tissues was obtained using microPET with F18-labelled FDG. The two images were co-registered to provide improved visual interpretation of metabolic activity. We quantified and compared relative glucose uptake in the brain, eyes, nasal epithelial, and other structures of the head.
