Creighton University: Assistant Professor

The Department of Biology at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor specializing in organismal or cellular physiology. We seek individuals committed to being outstanding teacher-scholars within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. The successful applicant will teach a 3-3 course load that includes general biology, mammalian physiology, as well as upper division elective courses in their area of expertise, depending on departmental needs.

Development of a productive research program involving undergraduates is expected and the successful candidate will be provided appropriate start-up and laboratory space to support their research program. All relevant areas of research focus will be considered.

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Biology (or a closely related field) is required. Postdoctoral experience and/or prior teaching experience are preferred, but not required
  • Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations
  • Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others
