Biology Department Head, University of Oregon

The University of Oregon, Department of Biology, is searching for a new Department Head. An ideal candidate will have broad interest in engaging a diverse department that includes the Institutes of Marine Biology, Ecology and Evolution, Molecular Biology, and Neuroscience. They will be dedicated to undergraduate and graduate education at a public university and will strongly support and enhance the DEI mission of the department. A strong record of research impact and mentorship is required, and the candidate’s research focus should complement and advance the expertise of the department and university. The Department Head will take leadership roles spanning research, teaching, and administration, and will help in building a healthy and respectful community, including recruiting and supporting all faculty, staff, and students. The position will be for a term of five years with the possibility of renewal. The applicant should currently be in a position equivalent to a Full Professor.
