Job Description:
The Department of Biological Sciences is seeking applicants for a nine-month, tenure-track faculty position to start Fall 2024.
Our new colleague will teach Anatomy and Physiology courses that serve Biological Sciences as well as Nursing and Allied Health programs. Additional courses may include Human Anatomy (with cadavers), Human Physiology, and Introductory Biology for majors and non-majors. Opportunities will exist to develop courses in their specialty that complement our current courses and fulfill departmental needs. The typical teaching load for this position is 12 credit hours during each of the spring and fall semesters. Candidates must have a strong desire to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor undergraduate and M.S. graduate research, and contribute to departmental and university service. There will also be opportunities to develop outreach and community engagement activities.

Minimum qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field. Candidates who are ABD will be considered.
- Evidence that the candidate can teach general biology courses (majors and non-majors) and at least one other course listed in the ad.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with human cadavers.
- Evidence of teaching (lecture and/or lab) effectiveness in higher education. Teaching assistant experience is acceptable.
- Proficiency with online learning tools and resources.
- Evidence of potential for a sustained research program.
- Positive experiences mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated active engagement in professional development.
- Evidence of contributions to the development of course and program assessments.
