We are seeking a postdoctoral investigator to examine the effects of deep-sea pressure on swimming kinematics of a variety of marine animals including fish and invertebrates. We seek either a biologist with strong quantitative and programming skills or an engineer with strong biological interests. The project is supported by the US Office of Naval Research to Providence College to be performed at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA, USA. The researcher will work on this project while also having latitude to develop other research themes aligned with their interests. The researcher will work with PI’s Jack Costello and Sean Colin in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of physical and material engineers to develop biologically inspired designs for deep sea research. Interested candidates please send a cover letter and curriculum vitae that includes contact information for three references to Jack Costello (costello@providence.edu)
