JOB SUMMARY:
The Biology Convening Group at Ramapo College of New Jersey invites applications for a Tenure-Track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences, demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, and provide an enriching research program suitable for undergraduate student involvement leading to conference presentations, research publications, and potential for extramural funding opportunities.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Evolutionary Biology, although other related areas of expertise will be considered. Teaching responsibilities will include a 300-level course in Evolution, development of upper-level biology electives in the candidate’s field of expertise, and 100 and 200 level courses as needed by the program. Our facilities are well-suited for biological research in our newly renovated National Science Foundation funded research suite. Applicants are encouraged to articulate their research approach using any combination of modern experimental, computational, or theoretical approaches.
DUTIES:
Successful candidates will be expected to teach Evolution and other courses in the major, maintain active participation in research, college service, and academic advisement.
