Genetics and the potential for adaptation to climate change

Meeting Abstract

S9.4  Friday, Jan. 7  Genetics and the potential for adaptation to climate change GOMULKIEWICZ, R; Washington State University gomulki@wsu.edu

This talk will consider the interplay of genetics, thermal performance, and demographic change in enabling and preventing populations from adapting to changing environments. The goal will be to combine theoretical results regarding the genetics of adaptation, evolution of thermal performance, and evolutionary demography into a framework that can help biologists predict the ultimate fate of species facing warming environments.
