We are hiring a Part-Time Research Technician to lead the development of new insect transgenic lines using modern genetic approaches (CRISPR/Cas9). The technician will be advised by researchers in Biology and Entomology (Rasgon and Schilder) and Mechanical Engineering (Mongeau) at Penn State University. The position is available beginning in September 2023.

Specific job duties will include:
- Maintaining a wild-type and transgenic insect colony
- Applying molecular genetic approaches such as microinjection and PCR to generate and validate transgenic lines
- Designing and cloning RNA constructs
- Implementing fluorescence and multi-photon excitation microscopy to characterize transgenic lines
Qualifications and Requirements
- B.S. or higher in biology or related discipline
