College Assistant Professor in Microbiology or Cell Biology

The Department of Biology at New Mexico State University invites applications for a continuing, non-tenure-track Lecturer position at the College Assistant Professor level. Applicants for this position must have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field and prior teaching experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum, experience in the development and/or implementation of innovative teaching methods and materials, and a commitment to equity, inclusion and diversity. The successful candidate will be responsible for three courses per semester primarily focusing on lower division elements of the Introductory Biology and General Microbiology curricula. In addition, they will offer occasional upper division courses in their area of expertise and contribute to course and career advising of undergraduate students.  The department offers undergraduate degrees in Biology, Microbiology, Conservation Ecology, and Genetics as well as MS and PhD degrees in Biology.
