The Biology Department at Lake Forest College seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach in person two identical lab sections of our core course Evolution & Ecology (BIOL 220) during the fall semester of 2022. The labs are already established and are a mix of field work and computer simulation, both with a focus on experimental design. We provide excellent mentoring of undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts college setting. This teaching assignment is 4 hours per week per section of laboratory plus office hours. The course is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12-3:50 PM. Fall semester at LFC extends from August 25th – December 15th. Although a PhD degree is desirable, candidates having completed a MS degree will also be considered.

A highly selective liberal arts college located on Chicago’s North Shore, Lake Forest College enrolls approximately 1,600 students from more than 40 states and from more than 70 countries. Lake Forest is one of the most diverse small colleges in the Midwest with nearly 40% of our student body comprised of domestic minority and international students. The majority of our STEM pool is female and also includes a significant number of first generation and traditionally underrepresented students. Lake Forest College embraces diversity and encourages applications from women, members of historically underrepresented groups, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

Please send electronically a cover letter, a curriculum vitae and the name and contact information of one reference to Professor Flavia Barbosa, Department of Biology barbosa@lakeforest.edu. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
