Workshop: Particle Image Velocimetry for Experimental Biology: Principles, Implementation, and a Hands-on session

January 8, 8AM – 6 PM. Marriott Hotel – Room TBD.

Please register below by December 4, 2018.

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) is a visualization technique used to measure fluid flows. Despite the usefulness of PIV for understanding the interaction between animals and the flow around them, the application of PIV in experimental biology is limited. This workshop is aimed at biologists who are interested in integrating PIV in their research, or are interested in better understanding the principles and implementation of the method. The workshop will cover PIV fundamentals such as system setup, image acquisition, analysis and post-procession. it will also include a hands-on session with PIV systems and MATPIV (BYO laptop). The workshop will be lead by Roi Gurka (Costal Carolina University), Roi Holzman (Tel Aviv University), and Brooke Flammang (New Jersey Institute of Technology/Rutgers University). For more information contact Roi Holzman ( ) and Roi Gurka ( Sponsored by TSI.

Thank you for your interest in the Particle Image Velocimetry Workshop. Unfortunately, all spots for the workshop have already been filled. See the SICB website for additional social options for the 2019 meeting. See you there!
