Control and mechanisms of animal flight
Compared to tractable insects, vertebrates are much harder to study in terms of control of complex behaviors. Nevertheless, I hope to confirm growing indications that during aerial maneuvers birds and insects show surprising similarities. After having focused on the mechanics of turning, we are now addressing the integration of sensory feedback in flight control.
